We were a young family living a comfortable life. Excited about the birth of our third daughter when our "normal-perfect" life suddenly changed on August 31, 1998.
Our beautiful curly blond haired 19 month old Hannah was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Looking back we could have never comprehended how our lives would change.
We learned very quickly how much we did not prepare for our "needs" after so quick;y preparing for the three girls when we headed to the hospital in an urgent fashion. After 22 admissions in a 6 month period involving surgeries, chemotherapy, observations and radiation therapy, we lost our precious Hannah to brain cancer on March 16, 1999. It has only been a few weeks, but we feel a strong urge to continue in our daughter's strong caring purposeful spirit and help others like us. Missing her terribly, I lay in my bed praying to my Hannah and my lord for guidance, direction and strength. That's when the idea of Hannah's Hugs was born.
