Abbott & Costello Go To Mars

Read Reviews

Abbott and Costello zoom into outer space and disrupt everything in sight in a parody of science fiction films ! While helping to load a rocket ship, Lester (Bud Abbott) and Orville (Lou Costello) accidently hit the starter button and take off. Aided by some great special effects, they fly around skyscrapers, through the Holland Tunnel, and on to New Orleans where the locals' Mardi Gras costumes convince them they've landed on Mars.

Another accidental launch really does take them into space and on to the planet Venus. Here they hit pay dirt. The place is loaded with pretty girls (including Miss Universe contestants from earth, such as Anita Ekberg). Furthermore, the Queen (Mari Blanchard) banished men 400 years ago because her husband was unfaithful. Even Orville and Lester look good after all that time, and they make out like bandits. - for a while. As always, the perfect straight man and the perfect buffoon turn the unexpected and the ludicrous into a delight, and there's never a dull moment.
