Abbott & Costello Meet The Killer

Read Reviews

Abbott & Costello provide hair-raising and hilarious thrills tracking - and being tracked by - a killer in this slick murder mystery spoof.

The scene is a swank hotel where a prominent lawyer is murdered. Bud Abbott is Casey, the house detective, and Lou Costello is Freddie, the bellhop. Although there are plenty of suspicious characters about, the murder is pinned on Freddie, who sets out to catch the real killer and clear himself. The menacing Swami Talpur (Boris Karloff) heads Freddie's suspect list, especially when he tries to hypnotize the little bellhop into suicide. (You're going to commit suicide if it's the last thing you do !)

Things get pretty hairy for Freddie. Dead bodies keep popping up to incriminate him - in his bed, hanging on a closet hooks, sitting in at a poker game. And while he's trying to hide the corpses, the killer is trying to turn him into one. The last straw is a spook cavern where a slippery incline above an abyss produces a first-class cliffhanger ! Romping through tailored-to-fit roles, the comedians mix mirth and the macbre with practical skill.
