One Night In The Tropics

Abbott & Costello make their film debut in this joyous tribute to love and luck. Who's heard of love insurance ? Well, just about nobody until a smooth-talking insurance salesman called "Lucky" (Allan Jones) seeks to calm the nerves of his best friend and groom to be, Steve (Robert Cummings), by selling him a policy that all but guarantees his intended matrimony to go smoothly. Unfortunately, there's no such thing as a sure thing in the love business, and a series of premarital mishaps finds everybody on a show boat to San Marcos where the star-crossed lovers are supposed to reunited to complete their nuptuals.
Somewhere along the way, however, Lucy falls for Steve's gal. Steve falls for another gal, and Abbott & Costello give the film some of it's most hilarious moments as a pair of flunkies hired to make sure the wedding goes through. Music by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstien enhances the romance to create a warm feeling of tropical nights, where anything can happen - and does !

Abbott & Costello perform a large portion of their famous, "Who's on first ?" routine, a special treat for for everyone who appreciates a timeless work of humor. One Night In The Tropics is a must see for Abbott & Costello fans, film buffs, and comedy lovers everywhere.
