Our On-line Bookstore

First Parish Church Unitarian Universalist
in Cooperation with Amazon.com

Why do we have a store, and how does it work?

The church earns much higher commissions if we can add a book to this page before you buy it, so unless you are in a real rush, please send those recommendations along. Thanks for your continued support.  Please send your excellent book suggestions to GoodBookUU@juno.com and I will e-mail you to confirm when they have been posted to our bookstore.

Children's Books

Number the Stars
by Lois Lowry
Newbery Award book by Lois Lowry. This book for intermediate grade students (but accessible for even younger ones) tells how the Danish people protected their Jewish citizens during World War II. The story tells how one Danish family helps a neighboring Jewish family by taking the daughter into their household. It also describes the efforts of brave fishermen and others to transport Jews to safety in neutral Sweden. This book is a fine example of adhering to the first principle of UU’s by valuing the inherent worth and dignity of all people.
