Hi everyone. The car so far has made 322 horsepower and 369 ft/lb at the wheels. This is an increase of 111hp and 54 ft/lb over what the stock L98 put down when I originally got the car at 98.5k miles. Right now it has 183k miles on it. Calculating for drivetrain loss this is about 390hp & 445 ft/lb at the crank. The car still needs a lot of tuning done to it, so we should see some more. I just haven't had time to do it properly yet. I expect the peak torque to shoot up a good amount and perhaps to squeeze another peak 15-20rwhp out of it when the computer is squared away. The bottom and mid range power curves should both increase a good amount though. This is WITHOUT the Nitrous Express or MSD Ignition components you see listed below. When all of that stuff is brought into the mix I will probably be running the 100 or 125 shot. This should in theory add about 85-105hp and at least 130-150 more ft/lb at the wheels. Well, that is of course if the pistons hold up. In this configuration the car has gone a best of 12.89 @ 109.77 with some horrible 2.2 sixty foot times bogging out of the hole badly on street tires. STREE TIRES! WHAT! Yeah I know, what the hell! It should blow them away. Then again these Eagle F1 GS-D3s in the 315/35-17YR Z size really bite hard. In comparison when the car was stock it went 13.89 @ 98.17 with 1.9 second sixty foot times on Dunlop SP8000 Sport 255/50-16ZR street tires. Hopefully the ECM tuning will kill this dead spot and bring back the bottom end to see what she'll really do. The car is an animal in the second 1/8 of the track picking up about 25 MPH. To me that says that the bottom end definitely needs work though as it shouldn't be picking up THAT much I'd think. I also have a set of 3.33 and 3.45 gears that I'm considering putting in instead of the 3.07 gears currently in the Dana 44. I do have to say that on the highway it screams with the 3.07 gears. Accelerating from 75mph to 150mph only takes about 1/2 mile and then just screams to 168mph (Haven't tried going faster yet) where the stock L98 would take about 2 miles to reach 150mph and then getting to 154mph took forever. |

| Graph taken from above modified dyno pull. You can see here why I think there is a lot of low & mid power still to be had. She's running way rich! Taking a look back at the dyno pull chart above shows how both the HP and Torque curves suffer with the A/F mixture so rich. Take note of how they both have dips where the A/F does as well. When I'm done tuning I want to see this line as flat as possible across the 13.0 line. |
